I feel like catfish tonight....

I still think this is one of my best shots....an osprey caught this catfish at dusk. I had just put my camera in the bag when he dropped down out of the sky right in front of me. I was able to get off one quick shot. My settings were the same as I had left them. My lucky day!!

Noctilucent Clouds

Noctilucent clouds - are high altitude clouds made of ice crystals. They can be as high as 50 miles or more in the sky. I took this shot a few years ago.

Momma Osprey drops in.....

Momma Osprey drops in for a closer check of her three babies. Ospreys live close to rivers and lakes where fish are plentiful. They are a beautiful bird. I also love how you can see the dust rising from the nest....

Osprey with a large fish

This is one of my favorite shots...this osprey has captured a large bass and can't get it out of the water. After trying a couple of times to get airborne, the Osprey had to let the fish go.

My favorite picture of 2009

And I was lucky to get it. I had packed my gear away and was getting ready to go when a bald eagle came in and flew low over the reeds. I quickly opened my camera bag an managed to get this ONE shot. My camera was on a manual setting that I didn't have time to change - It was sheer luck that the camera was still set for sky shots.......I like to leave the camera on but in the sleep mode as well - and this is why.
